We have been fortunate to receive some donated books (many given by our former Chairman, David Woolf) to establish a JSNW library (and, needless to say, if others wish to make donations we’ll gratefully add them to the collection). The committee has agreed to fund a loan scheme for a trial period of 12 - 18 months, to enable members to borrow up to 3 books for a period of 3 months.
What are the mechanics of the scheme? Check the list of books for loan and decide which you would like. In the first instance send* an E-mail: if the book is available it will be confirmed to you. You will then need to send a cheque covering the number of books requested (£5 deposit for each). We’ll just hold on to the cheque and destroy it when the books are returned (cheques may get banked in the case of a lengthy extended loan but the sum will be refunded). Either way, you won’t get charged for the loan – but reckon on a couple of pounds postage cost to return a book. Of course, if you bring a book along with you to an event and return it that way, the scheme needn’t cost you anything at all!
Address for correspondence and return of books: David Willis, 5 Phillips Close, Formby, Merseyside, L37 4BD (phone 01704-878994, E-mail: dwillis@jsnw.org.uk)
*Note: If you don’t have access to E-mail we suggest either phoning or sending a letter (enclose a phone number, in case of query) with the appropriate cheque, detailing your loan request.
